As if media bias weren’t bad enough – the Obama propaganda machine was out in full force this week, riding high on the back of a 6-year-old boy.
First off, let’s be clear: These heartfelt expressions of a little boy which are no doubt genuine are very touching – real pulls on the heartstrings, real proud moments for this boy’s parents, real lessons about humanity and the power of love for all.
Then Obama comes, and the tainting begins.
Here’s the backstory, from Fox News:
“A six-year-old boy has moved President Obama and other world leaders with his offer of a home for a Syrian child who was pictured stunned and bloodied after a bombing.
“Alex, from New York, wrote a letter to President Obama after seeing the shell-shocked photograph of Omran Daqneesh.
“Omran’s image made global headlines last month when he was pictured in the back of an ambulance after being rescued from the aftermath of a bomb attack in Aleppo.
“Omran’s photo inspired Alex to write to the White House with a plea: ‘Can you please go get him and bring him to our home?’
“The little boy added: ‘We’ll be waiting for you guys with flags, flowers and balloons. We will give him a family and he will be our brother.’
“Alex went on to describe how he would introduce Omran to a Syrian classmate named Omar.
“He said they would all play together, teaching Omran English and also learning to speak his language.
“‘Since he won’t bring toys and doesn’t have toys, Catherine (Alex’s younger sister) will share her big blue stripy bunny and I will share my bike and I will teach him how to ride it,’ says the six- year-old.
“A video clip of Alex reading the letter was posted on the White House Facebook page and has been viewed almost seven million times.”
From a human standpoint, that is awesome – right? Only the most cynical, hard-core haters could deny the true spirit of love behind this boy’s message.
Well, now there’s this, from Obama.
Again, Fox News reports:
“Obama also read part of the letter to world leaders at the United Nations Leaders’ Summit On Refugees in New York this week.
“He said: ‘Those are the words of a six-year-old boy – he teaches us a lot,’ at which point the leaders applauded.
“The humanity a young child can display who hasn’t learned to be cynical or suspicious or fearful of other people because of where they’re from or how they look or how they pray.
“‘We can learn a lot from Alex.”
Like what, exactly, Mr. President? That the United States is cruel to refugees and that Americans ought to behave like a 6-year-old boy who knows nothing of terrorist risk, national security, the hatred of radical jihadists against the West and progressive politicos who want nothing more than to destroy all that the Founding Fathers stood for?
Leave your propaganda at the White House, Mr. President. If you want to teach America a thing or two about compassion, on the back of a 6-year-old boy, no less, how about taking a refugee into your own family home first – a nice Muslim male, of maybe early-20s range, who’s well-traveled the Middle East, from Iran to Yemen?
It’s one thing for a little boy who knows nothing of politics and everything of innocence to issue a youthful plea aligned with a “why can’t we all get along” viewpoint. It’s quite another for a president, schooled in Chicago-bully politics with a passion for all-things-global to take that boy’s message and corrupt it – to use it as a way to wag self-righteous fingers at the country that pays his salary in order to shame and bring about a personal open borders agenda.
